Who should apply? Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- An official grade transcript from Coughlin High School, plus ACT and/or SAT test scores, if available.
- A personal statement in 2 pages or less, typed, 12 point with one inch margins on “how wrestling influenced my life.” Your written statement of worthiness attesting to dedication and sportsmanship, qualities exemplified by the life of Edward Kenzakoski, must be signed by a team coach. Your statement should include information that would help us in knowing you and in determining your eligibility or need (example: how you are financing your education; previous work experience; reasons for choosing your professional goal – e.g. athletics, business, the arts, education, medical profession, etc.; challenges in your life experience and long range plans after graduation).
- 2-3 letters of recommendation from non-family members (e.g., coaches, teachers, community service supervisors, clergy, employers, etc.).
- A copy of the (EFC) Expected Family Contribution confirmation page of your FAFSA report. A complete copy of your Student Aid Report (SAR) must be available upon request.
This Fund was established by family and friends to honor the memory of Edward Raymond Kenzakoski, III, an avid wrestler fro Coughlin High School. An annual scholarship will be awarded to a qualified wrestler from Coughlin High School who exemplifies Edward’s dedication and sportsmanship exhibited during his wrestling matches.
