Eight Local Organizations Receive Funding in Spring Grant Cycle

Eight Local Organizations Receive Funding in Spring Grant CycleThe Luzerne Foundation announced the awarding of eight grants to community organizations as a result of their Spring Grant Cycle. Over 40 grant applications were received by the public charity requesting over $112,000 in funding for programs supporting the handicapped, the arts, social services, camps, women and children, food pantries and clinics.

"It is a struggle, every grant cycle, to make decisions on which programs to support," noted Charles Barber, President/CEO of The Luzerne Foundation. "The volunteer grant selection committee reads and re-reads every application and I would like to publicly thank them for their time and dedication."

The grants come from The Fund For Luzerne County, The Ben Franklin Fund and many other funds at The Foundation. "Once again, it is because of the many individuals, families, companies, and organizations who contribute each year by donating to established funds or by creating new funds, that these grants are possible," stated Barber. "Because of them we are, Here for Good."

  • - Family Service Association – Youth Talent Expo Project
