2009 Fall Grant Recipients
The Luzerne Foundation recently announced the awarding of eighteen grants to community organizations as a result of their Fall Grant Cycle. Over 100 grant applications were received by the public charity requesting over $475,000 in funding for programs and services valued at over $7.5 million.
“It is a struggle, every grant cycle, to make decisions on which programs to support,” noted Charles Barber, President of The Luzerne Foundation. “The volunteer grant selection committee reads and re-reads every application and I would like to publicly thank them for their time and dedication.”
The grants come from The Fund For Luzerne County, The Health Fund and many other funds at The Foundation. “Once again, it is because of the many individuals, companies, and organizations who contribute each year by donating to established funds or by creating new funds, that these grants are possible,” stated Barber. “Because of them we are, Here for Good.”
